SHE Changes Climate Brazil Network

The Brazil Network launched on 7 March 2024 through an International Women’s Day event coordinated by Thais Coral (Director of Sinal do Vale & SCC Ambassador in Brazil) and Katie Weintraub (Brazil Network Lead).

The event partner was REDEH, an organization recognized both in Brazil and globally for its work with the inclusion of women and vulnerable communities, especially on the theme of racial justice. The aim of the event was to share the ecological bioeconomy vision promoted by Sinal do Vale and to enrich it with the perspective of women leaders.

A diverse group of women activists, community leaders, social entrepreneurs, public servants, businesswomen, and academics participated in the dialogue, each bringing unique viewpoints from both their on-the-ground and policy-level experiences. The dialogue also sought to create new connections between these women with diverse backgrounds, strengthening the network of women leaders working for climate justice in Rio de Janeiro and in the Guanabara Bay region.

The deep connection and mutual inspiration between the women was tangible, and it’s with this sisterhood spirit that the Brazil Network has begun its season of bloom.
